Role Overview

• Travel/Contract RN in Bridgeport, Connecticut
• Day shift: 4x12 hours, 7:00–19:30
• 48 hours per week
• 13-week contract
• Short term acute care hospital
• 426 staffed beds
• Level II Trauma Center
• 4–5 patient ratio
• Scrubs: Royal blue
• Will work every other weekend and holidays as needed
• Will float to other MedSurg units when needed

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Connecticut
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Oncology experience within the last year
• Oncology (2 years of experience)
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIHSS
• ONS/ONCC
• Experience with Epic
• Chemo cert required
• 7-year criminal background check required within 12 months of start
• EPLS/GSA/SAM required within 30 days of start
• HHS/OIG required within 30 days of start
• Verification of highest level of education required
• Physical exam required within 12 months of start
• Fit test required within 12 months of start and annually
• TB questionnaire required and must be updated annually
• 10-panel drug screen required within 12 months of start
• References required within 3 years of start
• Skills checklist required within 12 months of start
• 7-year work history with no gaps greater than 90 days required
• Work history verification for the last 7 years required for start dates on or after 8/2/2024
• Color blind testing required for all candidates
• Medication test/pharmacology competency exam required within 12 months of start
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for RNs
• Language Services Training required for RNs
• CAUTI Education Training required for RNs
• Suicide Risk and Environmental Assessment Training required for RNs and Allied
• Mobile Heartbeat Alarm Module required for all RNs except ER/ED, Pediatrics, ICU, and NICU
• Stroke Education Module and Attestation required for RNs
• CLABSI Prevention for Adult and Pediatric Training required for RNs
• Preventing Pressure Injury Training required for RNs
• Patient Transportation with Oxygen Education required for RNs
• Pyxis ES MedStation Modules required for RNs
• Baxter Pump Interoperability Training required for RNs
• Patient Bedside Rounding Module required for RNs and CNAs
• Ventricular Assist Device Awareness module required for RNs
• AME Blood Administration Module required for all RNs except Case Managers and Behavioral Health/Psych and Home Health
• New Employee Orientation Module required at orientation
• 21st Century Cures Act Module required for RN
• eCart Training Module required for all RNs
• Chaperone Policy Training required for RNs and Allied
• Fire Safety Module required for RNs and Allied
• 7-year criminal background check package must include SSN Trace, Counties Lived/Worked, Statewides, National Sex Offender, National Criminal, Federal Extended, and Education Verification

Preferred

• EPIC experience noted in application/profile if candidate wants to test out instead of completing EPIC training at orientation
• COVID initial series, if received
• Tdap within 10 years of start
