Trauma RN
Overview
- Travel/Contract role in Saint Louis, Missouri
- Day shift: 3x12 hours, 7:00–19:30
- Can sign for 36 or 48 hours per week
- Start date is 3–4 weeks out per compliance tier
- Guaranteed hours: Yes
- Ratios: 1:4–6
- Weekend requirement: every other
- On-call: No
- Floating: may float within scope to meet facility needs
- Block schedule: not accommodated
- Local candidates: not accepted within a 75-mile radius
- Pending license accepted: Yes
- RTO limit: no more than 7 days per 13-week contract
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Missouri
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- 5 years of Med Surg experience
- Med Surg experience within the last year
- BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
- Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients
- EKG interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Blood product administration
- Peripheral line care and management
- Phlebotomy
- IV insertion skills
- Insulin administration
- PCA pump management
- Spinal cord injury care
- Traumatic brain injury care
Unit / Clinical Focus
- RN/MS - Trauma
- Patient diagnoses may come from ED, OR, or ICU
- Unit services include geriatric trauma, trauma, and acute care surgery
- Trauma-related experience listed includes spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injury, ortho trauma, peripheral nerve block catheters, total joint replacements, surgical drains, chest tubes, CPAP/BiPAP, HFNC, nasal cannula, oral suctioning, oxygen face masks, portable oxygen tank, isolation precautions, wound care/wound vac, blood product administration, peripheral line care/management, phlebotomy, starting IVs, insulin, and PCA
Preferred
- Supervisors within the last year are preferred as references
