Required Qualifications

• RN license
• BLS (AHA)
• Travel experience required
• EPIC experience required
• Unexpired driver’s license must be included with submittals
• Strong knowledge in MedSurg, ID, and isolation precautions

Unit Details

• 1E - MedSurg/Infectious Disease
• 18 beds
• All private rooms due to infectious diseases
• Typical staffing is 3–4 RNs per shift
• 2 CNAs per shift
• Remote Tele from the 3rd floor with monitors at the desk; RNs do not read or interpret strips

Patient Population

• Infectious Disease
• Isolation
• COVID
• MRSA
• C-Diff

Clinical Responsibilities / Scope

• No cardiac drips
• May have patients on Cpap, Bipap, or high flow, managed by RT
• Floating is required to any MedSurg units
• If floated to Tele, patients are assigned within skillset

Schedule

• 12-hour shifts: 0700-1930 and 1900-0730
• Every-other-weekend required
• Holidays as needed based on unit coverage
• Travelers may be called off for low census depending on contract
• Block scheduling may be allowed if unit needs are met

Orientation

• 1 day of EPIC orientation
• 1 day on the floor with a preceptor
• 3rd day on their own

Dress Code

• Royal blue scrubs
• Scrub jackets are allowed only if they are actual scrub jackets and royal blue
• No hoodies or sweat-jackets
