Emergency RN
Role Overview
- Emergency RN
- Travel/Contract assignment in Ketchikan, Alaska
- 36 hours per week
- 3x12 shifts; primarily nights, with possible day or other time flexing as needed
- Start date is ASAP, with timing dependent on compliance and licensing
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Alaska
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- ED - Emergency Department (1 year of experience)
- ED - Emergency Department experience within the last year
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross or Military Training Network or Canadian AHA
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross or Military Training Network or Canadian AHA
- PALS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross or Military Training Network or Canadian AHA
- TNCC
- NIHSS
- Experience working with Cardiac patients
- Experience working with Med Psych patients
- Experience working with Trauma patients
- Experience working with Pediatric patients
- Experience working with Adult patients
- IV insertion skills for all ages
- Arterial blood gas sampling
- Independent management of cardiac, critical care, complex care med/surg, psychiatric, and multiple trauma patients of all age groups
- Ability to work in an intermittently fast-paced, high-volume, high-risk environment
- Computer charting
- Telemetry experience
Preferred Qualifications
- 2-3 years of experience
- ABG experience
- ENPC
- Epic experience
- Prior travel experience
- New grad RN candidates with prior experience in other emergency-type situations, including paramedic or EMS experience, may be considered
Schedule Notes
- Start times may vary at 7am, 10am, 12pm, and/or 7pm
- Weekend requirement is TBD
- Block scheduling is not allowed
- On-call is not required

- Does not usually float to other areas of the hospital
