Labor and Delivery
Overview
- Travel/Contract role in Seneca, South Carolina
- Night shift: 19:00–07:30
- 36 hours per week
- Weekend coverage: every other weekend
- Call and float are required
Unit / Clinical Setting
- LDRP with nursery responsibilities
- Baby Friendly Facility
- Unit also cares for GYN surgery patients
- Medication system: Omnicell
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in South Carolina
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience
- Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure
- Lactation Certificate
- AWHONN Intermediate
- Experience with Epic
Clinical Responsibilities / Scope
- Cross-trained to labor and delivery, circulator role, acute care nursery, and OB triage
- Performs own hearing screenings
- Staffing ratios mentioned in source:
- 1:1 with labor patients
- 1:2 with cytotec inductions
- 1:1 with mag patients
- 1:3 with couplet (mother baby) care
- 1:1 if a baby goes to the sick nursery
Floating
- Agency staff are required to float to other units or campuses as needed
- Floating is limited to areas where staff are qualified and have documented competencies
Additional Notes
- Unit will review first-time travelers depending on years of experience
