Description

PCU RN

Overview

  • Travel/contract RN role in Dayton, Ohio
  • 13-week contract
  • Night shift, 3x12 hours
  • 36 or 48 hours per week
  • Target patient ratio: 1:4, with ratios up to 1:5-6
  • Must be available to work every other holiday and every other weekend
  • Traveler will be first to float at discretion; may float within specialty clusters and may be assigned to the ED for boarders
  • If assigned to MVH, floating may include the main campus in Dayton, south campus in Centerville, and North Campus in Englewood

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Ohio
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • PCU - Progressive Care Unit (1 year of experience)
  • PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
  • ACLS issued by American Heart Association
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association
  • Experience with stable chronic ventilators
  • Experience with Epic
  • Pass an online EKG tele competency assessment before starting
  • 1.5 years of experience
  • NIH
  • Current resume/application
  • 2 references from within 2 years of start, with 1 from a Manager, Supervisor, or Charge RN
  • Skills checklist within 1 year prior to documentation due date
  • Government-issued photo ID
  • E-Verify documentation
  • Proof of name change, if applicable
  • 7-year criminal background check
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM check
  • HHS/OIG check
  • Physical exam within 2 years of start
  • Negative TB or chest X-ray
  • Drug screen within 12 months prior to documentation due date
  • Annual health questionnaire
  • Candidate agreement
  • Respiratory protection medical questionnaire
  • RespSafety clearance within 1 year of start
  • NURSYS verification
  • NIH Stroke Certification within 12 months prior to start

Preferred

  • IV Start
  • Travel experience
  • Level 1 or 2 experience

Additional Notes

  • RTO must be requested with initial submittal; no RTO will be added after offer
  • RTO approval is at manager discretion
  • 2 shifts may be canceled due to low census per 13-week contract
  • Agreement may be canceled with 2 weeks’ notice without fee or fine
  • Travelers are not eligible for employee incentives

Pros

Marigold is polite and professional. She goes above and beyond to ensure the contractor is well informed and has everything needed to be successful. She helped me with onboarding and getting used to the timesheet app and she answers my texts promptly, even after hours. She is a great recruiter liason. Gladys was a super helpful with onboarding and Denise will hook you up with benefits with no trouble at all. Great team to work with.

Cons

Onboarding is somewhat tedious, but they do dot every "i" and cross every T.
