Pediatric Emergency Room
Overview
- Temp Registered Nurse (RN) assignment in Des Moines, Iowa.
- Shift: Afternoons.
- Contract length: 13 weeks.
- Unit details: Pediatric patient population with Peds Hem/Onc, Med Surg, and all Pediatric specialties; may float across NICU, B3 gen floor, and PICU.
- Bed size: 12.
- Ratio: 1:4.
Required Qualifications
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
- Valid RN license in Iowa.
- Pediatrics ER - Emergency Room (1 year of experience).
- Pediatrics ER - Emergency Room experience within the last year.
- Experience working with Pediatric patients.
- Experience with Epic.
- One completed travel assignment.
- Driver's License.
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- PALS issued by American Heart Association.
- TNCC.
Preferred
- Professional reference / reference check from within the previous 24 months.
- De-escalation certificate.
Additional Notes
- No locals; candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility based on driver’s license.
- Past employees of UPH may be restricted from travel assignments under the stated separation policy.
- Contractor is required to work 1–2 of the 3 upcoming summer holidays unless the unit is closed.
- Orientation dates listed: 10/26, 11/9, 11/23, 12/7.
