Emergency Department Registered Nurse
Overview
- Contract role in Athol, Massachusetts
- 13-week assignment
- 36 hours per week
- Shift: 7pm-7am, every 3rd weekend and holiday
Role Summary
- Provides direct and indirect patient care in the Emergency Department
- Must be able to function independently in the Emergency Department
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills are required
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Massachusetts
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- ED - Emergency Department (1 year of experience)
- ED - Emergency Department experience within the last year
Preferred Qualifications
- BS in nursing
- TNCC
- ENPC
- CEN
Key Clinical Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing interventions and patient goals
- Provide care according to standards, protocols, policies, and procedures
- Administer medications and intravenous therapy
- Perform triage and initial patient assessment
- Identify and respond to abuse, violence risk, and disaster-related needs
- Recognize abnormal lab and diagnostic results and notify the physician
- Manage cardiac arrhythmias, thrombolytic therapy, anticoagulation therapy, and intubated patients
- Support medication reconciliation and VAP bundle implementation
