MSDU RN

Overview

Travel/Contract role in Rochester, New York
Night shift: 4x12 hours, 19:00–7:00
Every other weekend
13-week contract
26-bed Intermediate Care unit (IMCU)
Adult acute care step-down setting with continuous pulse-oximetry and telemetry monitoring

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in New York
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
PCU - Progressive Care Unit (1 year of experience)
PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
NIHSS
Ability to take a 1:5 to 1:7 patient ratio for Medical-Surgical care
Interpretation of dysrhythmias
Management of dysrhythmias
Use of Rapid Response/Code teams
Peripheral Line Care/Management
Experience with non-invasive airway management
Isolation Precautions
Experience with Epic

Additional Details

First-time travelers accepted
Locals must live more than 75 miles away
Scrub color: any combo of navy and white

Pros

Marigold is polite and professional. She goes above and beyond to ensure the contractor is well informed and has everything needed to be successful. She helped me with onboarding and getting used to the timesheet app and she answers my texts promptly, even after hours. She is a great recruiter liason. Gladys was a super helpful with onboarding and Denise will hook you up with benefits with no trouble at all. Great team to work with.

Cons

Onboarding is somewhat tedious, but they do dot every "i" and cross every T.
