MS/Tele RN
Overview
- Travel/Contract role in Alton, Illinois
- 3x12 night shifts, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
- No call
- No weekends
- Adults and geriatrics
- Acute Medical Unit with medical and telemetry patients
- 24 beds
- Average daily census: 16–18
- Staffing ratio on nights: 1:5
- Float required within service line and scope
- Accepts first-time travelers
- Locals not accepted within a 75-mile radius
- Pending license not accepted
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Illinois
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- 1 year of Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- NIHSS
Preferred
- CPI
- Epic charting familiarity
Clinical Focus
- EKG rhythm identification
- Non-titrating cardiac drips
- Care of acutely ill adult and geriatric general medicine/surgical or infectious disease patients who may require telemetry monitoring for non-acute cardiac conditions
- Advanced medication infusion without titration increase; decrease/weaning allowed
- Pre- and post-procedure evaluation and care
- Neurological assessment and care for AIS/TIA patients
Exclusions
- Active and unstable gastrointestinal bleeding
- Uncontrolled ischemic chest pain with unstable vital signs
- Continuous NPPV
- Tenecteplase (TNK)
- Insulin drip
- Neosynephrine
- Nipride
