Endoscopy RN
Overview
- Travel/contract assignment
- 12 weeks
- Day shift: 5x7.5 hours, 6:30 AM–2:30 PM
- Weekends not required
- Float required
- First-time travelers not accepted
- Minimum experience: 1 year
Setting
- Hospital-based Endoscopy/GI procedural unit
- Supports Pre-Procedure/Prep and PACU/Recovery
- Cares for adult and pediatric patients
- Unit size: 6 rooms, 15 beds
- Average daily census: 33
- Average visits/day: 5
- Staffing ratio: 1:2
- Required patient ratio experience: 1:3
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in New York
- Endoscopy (2 years of experience)
- Endoscopy experience within the last year
- One completed travel assignment
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- PALS issued by American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Experience in a Critical Care setting
- PACU/Recovery experience
- Airway management
- Starting and maintaining IVs
- Recovery from conscious sedation
- Administering and monitoring conscious sedation
- Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Emergency-response skills
- Specimen handling and labeling
- Circulating for procedures
Preferred
- Pediatric experience
- EPIC experience

- Complex polypectomy
