Description

Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse

Location: Maryville, Tennessee Employment Type: Travel/Contract Contract Length: 13 weeks Shift: Night, 3x12 hours (18:45 to 7:15) Hours: 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week

Required Qualifications

Valid, active RN license in Tennessee
2 years of Labor and Delivery experience
Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
Completed one travel assignment (first-time travelers not accepted)
ACLS
BLS issued by American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or RQI
NRP
EFM (AWHONN required as applicable)
Lactation Certificate for Baby Friendly (required for all Women's RN candidates)
AWHONN Intermediate
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Experience with Epic

Duties and Scope

Night shift, 3x12 hours
Weekend coverage every other weekend, though this may vary based on unit need
Call is required
Floating to other units is required but only within the nurse's skill set

Special Procedures: Triage assessments, inductions, cesareans, external versions, NSTs, circumcisions, newborn resuscitation/stabilization, Mag Sulfate administration

Patient Diagnoses: Term labor, antepartum surveillance, newborn care, gyn med/surg (post-op hysterectomy, mastectomy), overflow female non-infectious non-tele medicals (appendectomies, pancreatitis, etc.), diabetes, pre-eclampsia

Pros

Marigold is polite and professional. She goes above and beyond to ensure the contractor is well informed and has everything needed to be successful. She helped me with onboarding and getting used to the timesheet app and she answers my texts promptly, even after hours. She is a great recruiter liason. Gladys was a super helpful with onboarding and Denise will hook you up with benefits with no trouble at all. Great team to work with.

Cons

Onboarding is somewhat tedious, but they do dot every "i" and cross every T.
