Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele; Additional Notes from VMS= Neuro Cardiac Unit MS/Tele RN - Nights

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• 13-week contract length with bi-weekly orientation
• Three weekends required out of every six-week schedule
• Every other holiday required
• Float requirement: First to float within skillset to other campus locations with 2-hour notice
• 32-bed unit with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:6-7 on nights
• Must wear navy blue scrubs with no competing health system or agency logos
• Care for complex Med/Surg/Tele patients including post cardiac caths, CVA/TIA, ICD patients
• Handle complex abdominal surgeries, oncology, and post-operative cranial patients
• Required certifications: Current active compact license, AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS
• Two years of strong Tele/Med/Surg experience required with one travel assignment
• Trauma Level II experience required, charge nurse experience preferred
• Recent EPIC charting experience required with mandatory checkoff class
• Must demonstrate strong NIHSS/dysphagia screening and neuro assessment skills
• Required to pass telemetry tests and interpret 12-lead EKGs
• Must be able to initiate and titrate drips including insulin, cardiac, and heparin
• Heart cath recovery experience with femoral and TR bands required
• Associate degree or certificate required
• May require precepting of students and new hires in teaching hospital environment
• Three call-ins can result in contract termination
