Opportunity:

RN - ICU

Job Details:

• 13-week contract position with guaranteed 36 hours per week (48 hours available upon request)
• 12-hour night shifts
• Every other weekend and every other holiday rotation required
• Float requirement to step-down level care when needed
• No on-call or call back requirements
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Must have current Illinois nursing license
• Required certifications: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years ICU experience required (3 years preferred) with 1 travel assignment required
• Must demonstrate strong neuro assessment skills and NIHSS/dysphagia screening abilities
• Telemetry/EKG interpretation required (exam administered on first day)
• ETT/vent management experience required (respiratory therapy available for support)
• Must be able to initiate and titrate sedatives, paralytics, cardiac drips, vasoactive medications, and insulin
• Experience with sepsis protocols and post-ROSC therapeutic hypothermia protocol required
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills essential
• Must be hard working, resilient, manage change well, and socially adaptable
• Preferred skills: tPA administration/assessments and massive transfusion (Belmont) experience
• Patient ratios: ICU 2:1, Step-down 3:1
• Associate degree or certificate required
• No local candidates within 40-mile radius
