Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• 13-week contract with guaranteed 36 hours per week (48 hours available upon request)
• Overtime applies after 52 hours on 48-hour contracts
• Three weekends required out of every six-week schedule
• Every other holiday rotation required
• Float requirement: First to float within skillset to Deaconess Newburgh campus (8 miles) and potential float to Deaconess Henderson, KY (11 miles)
• 2-hour notice given for cross-campus float assignments
• Mid-shift float within same campus possible
• No on-call or call-back requirements
• Patient ratio: 1:6-7 during night shift on 41-bed unit
• Care for med/surg population including post-surgical patients, UTI, sepsis, high fall risk, COPD, and CHF patients
• Required skills: Remote telemetry, chest tubes, NG/PEG tubes, straight catheter/Foleys, ostomies, Heparin drips, blood/blood product administration, tracheostomy care, PCA management
• Must demonstrate strong assessment and critical thinking skills
• Required certifications: Current active compact license, AHA BLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years strong Med/Surg experience, 1 travel assignment, and trauma level II experience required
• Recent EPIC charting experience required with mandatory checkoff class
• Associate degree or certificate in nursing required
• Clinical interview and MSP interview required
• Scrubs required with no competing health system or agency logos
• May require precepting of students and new hires
• Three call-ins can result in termination
