Opportunity:

RN - Neurology; Additional Notes from VMS= Neuro Surgical - Nights - Deaconess Gateway **Clinical Interview**

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• 13-week contract length with guaranteed 36 hours per week (48-hour contracts available upon request)
• Overtime applies after 52 hours on 48-hour contracts
• Three weekends required out of every six-week schedule
• Every other holiday rotation required
• Float requirement within skillset to multiple campuses with 2-hour notice
• Must maintain strict attendance policy - 3 call-ins can result in termination
• Two years of strong neurology experience required plus 1 travel assignment
• Trauma level II experience required
• Recent EPIC charting experience required with checkoff class
• Required certifications: Current active compact license, AHA BLS, and NIHSS
• Care for neurology and neuro-surgical patients including CVAs, elective back/neck surgeries, post-op craniotomies, and cerebral angiograms
• Perform NIHSS/dysphagia screenings, strong neuro assessments, basic telemetry interpretation
• Manage strict I&Os, straight catheterization, Foley catheters, initiate/titrate heparin drips
• Administer blood/blood products, perform venipuncture and blood cultures
• Handle NG tubes, indwelling drain management, and stable drips
• Navy blue scrubs required with no competing health system or agency logos
• Teaching hospital may require precepting of students and new hires
• Patient ratio: 1:5-7 on nights with charge nurse taking partial patient assignment
