Opportunity:
RN - Stepdown
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour day shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM
• 36 guaranteed hours per week (48 hours available upon request)
• 13-week contract assignment with bi-weekly orientation starting 1/12
• Work three weekends out of every six-week schedule
• Every other holiday rotation required
• Float requirements: First to float within skillset to Deaconess Newburgh (8 miles) and potential to Deaconess Henderson, KY (11 miles) with 2-hour notice
• Patient ratio: Days 1:4-5 patients
• 32-bed cardiac renal stepdown unit
• High acuity patient population including cardiac heavy cases, telemetry/medical-surgical, CHF, COPD, sepsis, behavioral health/CIWA, post ablations, and dialysis patients
• Required to pass telemetry tests and demonstrate 12-lead EKG interpretation skills
• Perform PIV insertion, chest tube/indwelling drain management, CBI, and manage stable drips
• Initiate and titrate antiarrhythmic drips, heparin, and other cardiac medications
• Manage nephrostomy tubes and provide comprehensive cardiac care
• Required certifications: Current active compact license, AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years strong cardiac/telemetry experience, 1 travel assignment, and trauma level II experience required
• Recent EPIC charting experience required with mandatory checkoff class
• Scrubs required with no competing health system or agency logos
• May require precepting of students and new hires in teaching hospital environment
• Associate degree or certificate in nursing required
