Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• 36 guaranteed hours per week (48 hours available upon request)
• 13-week contract assignment
• Overtime applies after 52 hours on 48-hour contracts
• Float requirement within skillset to Deaconess Newburgh campus (8 miles) and potential float to Deaconess Henderson, KY (11 miles)
• 2-hour notice given for cross campus float assignments
• Mid-shift float within same campus possible
• Weekend requirement: three weekends out of every six-week schedule
• Holiday requirement: every other holiday
• 44-bed unit with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4-7 on nights
• Charge nurse takes patients on nights
• Care for trauma, orthopedic (broken hip/femur), and neurological patients (scheduled neck/back procedures, spine/rib fractures)
• Required skills: strong neuro assessment, log rolling patients, applying assistive devices, telemetry/12-lead EKG interpretation, PIV insertion
• Preferred skills: chest tube management, drip administration, epidural management, PEG/NG tubes, wound care
• Must pass telemetry test for stepdown experience candidates
• Recent EPIC charting experience required with mandatory checkoff class
• Required certifications: current active compact nursing license, AHA BLS, NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years RN experience, one full year ortho/neuro/trauma, 1 travel assignment, trauma level II experience required
• Navy blue scrubs required with no competing health system or agency logos
• May require precepting of students and new hires in teaching hospital environment
• 3 call-ins can result in contract termination
