Opportunity:

RN - Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM
• 13-week contract with guaranteed 36 hours per week (48-hour contracts available upon request)
• Overtime begins after 52 hours for 48-hour contracts
• Three weekends out of every six-week schedule required
• Every other holiday rotation required
• Float requirement: First to float within skillset to other campus locations (Deaconess Midtown 8 miles away, Deaconess Henderson 11 miles away) with 2-hour notice
• Mid-shift float within same campus possible
• Patient ratio: Days 1:3-4 patients
• 16-bed unit with excellent CNA support and teamwork
• Care for cardiac patients (post cath stents/interventions, pacers), CIWA/behavioral health, sepsis, DKA, CVA, CPAP, feeding tubes, craniotomy POD 2, GI bleeds, hypothermic patients
• Required skills: Telemetry/12-lead EKG interpretation, initiate/titrate drips (antiarrhythmics, Heparin, insulin), post-surgical assessment and care, NIHSS/neuro assessments, dysphagia screening
• Preferred skills: Stable home vents, PleurX drain/pericardial drains, lumbar drains, VP shunts, Narcan drips
• Minimum 2 years RN experience, 1 full year stepdown experience, 1 travel assignment, trauma level II experience required
• Recent EPIC charting experience required with checkoff class
• Required certifications: Current active compact license, AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS
• Must pass telemetry tests
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs with no competing health system or agency logos
• May require precepting students and new hires in teaching hospital environment
• Associate degree or certificate required
• Clinical interview required
• No local candidates within 40-mile radius accepted
