Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 13-week contract length with 72 guaranteed hours biweekly
• Overtime after 80 hours worked in second week
• Every other weekend and holiday rotation required
• Float to ICU to assist when needed
• Subject to low census and call back with minimum 2-hour call back requirement
• Must be located outside 50-mile radius of facility
• 2+ years Med Surg experience required with ICU and ER experience
• Required licenses and certifications: Current Michigan RN license, AHA BLS, and ACLS
• Strong charting experience required with Care Scape patient monitors, Epic EMR, and Pyxis medication dispensing systems
• Patient ratio: Day 1:4-1:5, Night 1:6 average
• General nursing skills caring for geriatric patients with CHF, COPD, and diabetic conditions
• Any colored scrubs required
• Candidates with demonstrated contract experience in colder climates preferred for winter start dates
• During flu season, mask wearing required at all times for those declining flu and COVID vaccination
• Associate degree or certificate required, bachelor's degree preferred

This healthcare organization operates a 25-bed Medical Surgical unit that primarily serves geriatric patients with complex medical conditions including congestive heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and diabetes. The facility utilizes advanced technology systems for patient monitoring and electronic medical records, ensuring comprehensive patient care. The organization maintains strict safety protocols and policies to protect both patients and staff, particularly during seasonal health challenges.
