Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 48 guaranteed hours per week with overtime after 48 hours worked
• Every other weekend and holiday rotation required
• Float to ICU to assist when needed
• Can be low censused and put on call with 2-hour minimum call back
• Patient ratio of 1:6 average on nights
• Work on 25-bed Med Surg unit
• Generally care for geriatric patients with CHF, COPD, and diabetes
• Any colored scrubs required
• Minimum 2+ years Med Surg experience required
• Must have ICU and ER experience
• Required licenses and certifications: Current Michigan RN license, AHA BLS, and ACLS
• Strong charting experience required with Care Scape patient monitors, Epic EMR, and Pyxis medication dispersion
• Associate degree or certificate required; Bachelor's degree preferred
• Contract length of 13 weeks
• Candidates with demonstrated contract experience in colder climates preferred for winter start dates
• Must comply with facility mask policy during flu season if declining flu and COVID vaccination

This healthcare facility operates a 25-bed Med Surg unit that primarily serves geriatric patients with conditions such as congestive heart failure, COPD, and diabetes. The facility maintains modern healthcare technology including Epic EMR systems, Care Scape patient monitors, and Pyxis medication dispensing systems. The organization emphasizes quality patient care and maintains strict policies for staff compliance and patient safety protocols.
