Opportunity:
RN - OR
Job Details:
• Work as a circulating registered nurse in the operating room with 1:1 patient ratio
• Minimum 2 years of OR experience required
• Variable start times for day shifts (anywhere between 5:30 AM - 7:00 AM)
• Must have experience with robotic surgery, vascular procedures, and general specialty cases
• RN circulator experience with scrubbing background is recommended
• Required certifications: BLS
• Must be proficient in multiple surgical specialties including neuro/ENT spine surgeries, orthopedic procedures, and general surgery cases
• Experience required with navigation systems including Medtronic, Stryker, and Synaptive
• Knowledge of robotic surgery (XI) preferred - facility does not train agency staff on robots unless strong background and extended contract
• Must be comfortable with laminectomies, fusions, cranial surgeries, ENT procedures, fractures, total joints, and laparoscopic cases
• On-call responsibilities with 30-minute response time and 8-week call schedule
• Cross-training required for General Main OR specialty and Urology center
• No floating to other hospitals or sites
• 1-1.5 week orientation period depending on team and shift
• Charting systems include EPIC, Alaris, and Pyxis
• Surgical scrubs provided by hospital; scrub caps allowed but must be covered by surgical bouffant
• First-time travelers require additional approval and evaluation from hiring supervisor
Facility:
This major medical center is a Level III Trauma Center and Level III NICU with Magnet designation and Primary Stroke Center status. The facility features 636 beds and operates 21 OR beds, providing comprehensive surgical services across multiple specialties including neurosurgery, orthopedics, vascular, general surgery, and robotics. The operating room department offers advanced surgical technology and navigation systems, with strong support from charge nurses, leads, supervisors, and management staff.
