Opportunity:

RN - ER

Job Details:

• 13-week contract with immediate start dates available
• 72 guaranteed hours per biweekly period with overtime after 80 hours worked in second week
• Variable day/night shift requirements
• Float assignments to ICU and Medical Surgical units as needed
• Subject to low census and on-call requirements with 2-hour minimum call back
• Rotating weekends and holidays, typically every third rotation
• Required certifications: Current Michigan RN license, ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC
• Minimum 3 years ER experience required, 5 years strongly preferred
• Must reside 50 miles outside of facility (radius rule requirement)
• Perform ED assessments and general nursing skills for diverse patient population
• Care for geriatric patients with CHF or COPD, diabetic ketoacidosis, trauma patients, stroke patients, cardio-respiratory emergencies, pediatric patients, and general medical concerns
• Charge nurse responsibilities included in role
• Any colored scrubs permitted
• Associate degree or certificate required, bachelor's degree preferred
• Mandatory flu and COVID vaccination or mask requirement during flu season per facility policy
• Contract eligible for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours

Facility:

This healthcare facility operates a 9-bed emergency department equipped with 2 negative pressure rooms and 2 trauma bays. The facility maintains staffing of 2 RNs on day shift through 11 PM and 1 RN on nights with charge nurse assistance. The organization also includes a 2-bed ICU that requires staffing to remain operational and a 25-bed Medical Surgical unit with specialized COVID rooms. The facility emphasizes comprehensive emergency care and maintains strict health and safety protocols.
