Opportunity:

Ultrasound Tech - Ultrasound Tech

Job Details:

• Competently operate ultrasound equipment to perform general and vascular procedures/studies
• Accurately differentiate between normal and pathologic findings
• Review patient medical records to obtain clinical information including patient history, lab results, and physician orders
• Position patients and select proper transducer and technical factors for accurate ultrasound procedures
• Use cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record, and adapt procedures as appropriate
• Accurately identify and label images with patient name, medical record number, and scan location
• Maintain records in accordance with regulatory agencies and enter patient information into radiology information system
• Analyze sonograms, synthesize sonographic information and medical history
• Communicate findings to appropriate physicians
• Must demonstrate knowledge and skills to provide age-appropriate care across the lifespan
• Competency required in all general and/or vascular sonographic procedures
• Knowledge of aseptic techniques required
• Ability to work independently and manage simultaneous assignments
• Must be flexible with schedule and adaptable to constant change
• Physical requirements include lifting up to 50 lbs from floor to waist, 20 lbs overhead, and carrying up to 40 lbs
• Must be able to push/pull with 30 lbs of force and perform sliding transfers of 150 lbs with assistance
• Clear speech, vision, and hearing required
• May be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and radiation hazards as well as blood and body fluids
