Opportunity:

Surg Assistant - Surg Assistant

Job Details:

• Work variable day shift start times between 5:30 AM and 7:00 AM
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• 1-1.5 weeks orientation period depending on team and shift
• On-call responsibilities required with 30-minute response time
• 8-week call schedule subject to change based on staffing needs
• General/Neuro call includes AM/PM shifts, 10 EOS call slots, and 1-2 weekend calls
• Ortho call includes 1 day per week (Monday-Friday) EOS until 7:00 AM and 1 call weekend every 5 weeks
• Holiday weeks offer option of 4 ten-hour shifts or unpaid holiday
• Cross-trained to General Main OR specialty and Urology Center regardless of hiring position
• No floating to other hospitals or sites
• Surgical scrubs provided by hospital with scrub caps allowed but must be covered by surgical bouffant
• Free parking available with shuttle service provided
• Required certifications: Certified Surgical First Assist (CSFA) from NBSTSA, ABSA, or NCCSA, and BLS
• Work with diverse surgical specialties including General/Neuro, Orthopedic, and General surgery cases
• Experience with various navigation systems, robotic equipment, and specialty positioning equipment preferred

Facility:

This major medical center operates as a Level III Trauma Center with 636 beds and holds prestigious Magnet designation. The facility features a Level III NICU and serves as a Primary Stroke Center, providing comprehensive surgical services across multiple specialties. The surgical department utilizes advanced technology including EPIC EMR system, robotic surgical equipment, and state-of-the-art navigation systems, supported by experienced charge nurses, leads, supervisors, and management staff available around the clock.
