Opportunity:

RN - PACU

Job Details:

• Work Monday through Friday with set schedule, hours dependent on requisition
• Float regularly between Phase I and Phase II Recovery for Main PACU and East PACU
• Patient ratios: Pre-op 1:3, Phase I 1:2, Phase II 1:3
• Care for inpatient, outpatient, and observation patients including pediatrics and adults
• Handle post-operative patients from various specialties including general surgery, plastics, urology, GI, bariatrics, GYN, neurosurgery, robotics, orthopedics, and more
• Minimum 2 years Phase I/Phase II PACU experience required
• Experience recovering post-cath, bronchoscopy, and IR patients highly preferred
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, CAPA or CPAN certification
• Must be proficient with EPIC EMR system
• Skills include reading/interpreting cardiac rhythms, managing cardiac drips, providing discharge instructions
• Must be comfortable with art lines, TR bands, chest tubes, CBI procedures
• Orientation includes NEO and 2 eight-hour shifts in the department
• No weekend rotation, on-call, or holiday expectations
• Maximum 4 days of requested time off will be approved
• Scrub requirements: Any solid color, professional appearance with no logos, graphics, or designs
• Will not accept candidates who were previously staff for Aurora BayCare PACU
• Free parking available

Facility:

This healthcare facility is a comprehensive medical center featuring 167 beds and serves as a Level II Trauma Center. The facility includes a Level III NICU, Level III Maternity Center, and Primary Stroke Center. The PACU department operates two units within the same building with Main PACU on the second floor (33 pre/post rooms, 10 Phase I PACU bays) and East PACU on the first floor (33 pre/post rooms, 17 Phase I PACU bays). The facility serves 60-80 patients per day combined through both PACU units and provides comprehensive support including 24/7 hospitalist coverage, respiratory therapy, anesthesiologists/CRNAs, and various surgical specialists.
