Opportunity:

RN - Tele; Additional Notes from VMS= Grafton - Nursing Float Pool

Job Details:

• Float to different medical-surgical units throughout the hospital including MS 1 General Surgical, MS 2 Cardiac Neuro, MS 3 Oncology, MS 4 Ortho, 3W PCU, Surgical Surge Unit, and ED Holding
• Work 12-hour shifts: Day shift 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM or Night shift 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
• Patient ratios: Day shift 1:5, Night shift 1:6
• Weekend rotation every other weekend with 6-week scheduling provided 1-2 weeks in advance
• Holiday expectations every other holiday based on start date and department needs
• 2 years of experience required, first-time travelers accepted
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH
• Wisconsin nursing license required
• Telemetry experience required
• Skills needed: cardiac rhythm interpretation, drain management, NGT placement and management, central line management, CBI, dressing changes, wound care, wound vac
• Use EPIC charting system, Alaris pumps, and Pyxis medication dispensing
• One shift orientation with nurse manager choosing MS unit for orientation
• Scrub color: Any color allowed (no camo/denim/logos)
• Protective, wipeable footwear required, no earbuds or AirPods
• Free parking provided
• No 48-hour contracts available
• Low census tracked per contract with 36 hours cancellation per 13-week contract

This healthcare facility is a 136-bed Level III Trauma Center with a Level II NICU and Primary Stroke Center designation. The facility provides comprehensive medical services across multiple specialized units including general surgical, cardiac neuro, oncology, orthopedic, and progressive care units. The organization maintains 24/7 hospitalist coverage, respiratory therapy services, centralized telemetry monitoring, and strong support staff including charge nurses, unit secretaries, and phlebotomy services. The facility emphasizes team-oriented culture with strong teamwork and supportive CNA/RN relationships.
