Opportunity:
RN - PACU
Job Details:
• Work Monday through Friday with set schedule, no weekend rotation required
• No on-call responsibilities or holiday expectations
• Float regularly between Phase I and Phase II Recovery for Main PACU (2nd floor) and East PACU (1st floor)
• Patient ratios: Pre-op 1:3, Phase I 1:2, Phase II 1:3
• Care for 60-80 patients per day combined through both PACU units
• Handle inpatient, outpatient, and observation patients including pediatrics and adults
• Manage post-operative patients from various specialties including general surgery, plastics, urology, GI, bariatrics, GYN, neurosurgery, robotics cases, ophthalmology, orthopedics, cardiothoracic, ENT, and endovascular procedures
• Experience required with post-cath, bronchoscopy, and IR patients highly preferred
• Must be proficient with arterial lines, TR bands, chest tubes, CBI, and EPIC system
• Required to read and interpret cardiac rhythms and manage cardiac drips
• Provide discharge instructions and work in both Phase I and Phase II recovery areas
• Minimum 2 years Phase I/Phase II PACU experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and CAPA or CPAN certification
• Must have EPIC EMR experience
• Professional dress code requires solid color scrubs with no logos, graphics, or designs
• Orientation includes NEO and 2 eight-hour shifts in department
• Maximum of 4 days RTO will be approved
• Will not accept candidates who were previously staff for Aurora BayCare PACU
Facility:
This healthcare facility is a Level II Trauma Center featuring a Level III NICU and Level III Maternity Center, along with Primary Stroke Center designation. The facility operates 167 beds and maintains two PACU units - Main PACU with 33 pre/post rooms and 10 Phase I bays on the 2nd floor, and East PACU with 33 pre/post rooms and 17 Phase I bays on the 1st floor. The organization provides comprehensive surgical services across multiple specialties and maintains 24/7 support including hospitalists, respiratory therapists, anesthesiologists, and CRNAs.
