Opportunity:

Respiratory Therapist - Respiratory Therapist

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts: 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 5:00 PM to 5:00 AM
• Weekend rotation every 3rd weekend
• Holiday expectations: 1 summer and 1 winter holiday
• No on-call requirements
• Schedule cycle: 6 weeks at a time, provided 3 weeks in advance
• Patient ratio of 1:1
• Float throughout hospital to all units including ICU/CCU stepdown, inpatient cardiac unit, medical/surgical units, and very busy emergency department with high pediatric population
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS; NRP preferred
• RRT highly preferred but will accept CRT
• Skills required: ABG punctures, airway and ventilator management, inhaled medications (MDI and nebulizer), code blue response, EKGs (up to 10 per shift)
• Pediatric and NICU experience preferred but not required
• Work with 2-5 vents daily between ED and ICU
• Treat patients with COVID, COPD, ETOH detox, overdose, ARDS, pneumonia, influenza, CHF, lung cancer, stroke, RSV, and trach patients
• Technology includes EPIC EMR, Hamilton C1, Airvo-Hiflow, and Servo-U for ventilated patients
• 2-3 day orientation up to one week depending on comfort level
• Any color scrubs allowed as long as professional; cartoons and t-shirts permitted

Facility:

This healthcare facility is a 120-licensed bed hospital that serves as a Level IV Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center. The facility features a Level II NICU and provides comprehensive respiratory therapy services throughout all units. The hospital maintains a strong support system with dedicated respiratory therapists during all shifts, including a charge therapist and RT educator, with management available on-site during day shifts.
