Opportunity:

RN - 301351176 - Med Surg/PCU/Tele RN - 5N Neuro Trauma

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend requirement (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
• Holiday requirements: typically 2/3 holidays for winter, otherwise every other
• 36 hours per week minimum
• Nurse to patient ratios: Days 1:4-5, Nights 1:5-6 (dependent on acuity)
• 2 years of Med Surg, PCU, or ICU experience required
• Must have experience in setting within the last 1 year
• Must have drip experience and be able to titrate medications
• Tracheostomy and ventilator experience highly preferred
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), NIHSS
• Any solid color scrubs allowed
• Self-scheduling system (opens 6 weeks in advance)
• Floating required to sister Med Surg units with 6 different specialties
• No call requirements
• Orientation includes 1 shift general and 1 shift with preceptor
• Must clock in and out at facility
• Common titratable drips: Heparin, Nitro, Diltiazem, Amiodarone, 3%, Insulin
• Work with RT equipment including vents, trachs, CPAP, BiPAP, Vapotherm, ETCO2
• Care for neuro focus patients: strokes, seizures, Guillain Barre, Myasthenia gravis, spinal injuries, thrombectomies, trauma ortho injuries

Facility:

This medical center operates a 28-bed Progressive Care Unit with a neuro trauma focus, providing Level 2 trauma care in an acute care setting. The facility utilizes Cerner charting system and maintains high standards for patient care with specialized equipment and experienced staff. The unit serves patients with complex neurological conditions and trauma cases, offering advanced monitoring and treatment capabilities.
