Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts with various shift times available: 0700-1900, 1500-0300, 1900-0700, 0300-1500
• Will accept 48-hour contract
• Weekend rotation required every third weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• May work up to 3 holidays during contract period including Thanksgiving Eve, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, NYE, NYD, 4th of July, Labor Day, Memorial Day
• 2 years of minimum experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Patient ratios: Days/Evenings 1:4-5, Nights 1:5
• Required certifications: BLS; NIHSS preferred
• Must be proficient in PIV starts, wound care, dressing changes, wound vacs, drains, chest tubes, stable trach management
• Knowledge of patients on bipap/cpap required
• Experience with insulin and heparin drips
• EPIC EMR experience preferred
• May float within scope of practice to MS1, Cardiac MS2, and ED Holding
• Orientation includes NEO and 1-2 12-hour shifts on unit
• Schedules made in 4-6 week increments, received 2 weeks prior
• Professional solid color scrubs required

Facility:

This healthcare facility is a 101-bed medical center serving as a Level IV Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center. The 24-bed medical-surgical unit provides comprehensive care for patients with orthopedic conditions including total hip and knee replacements and spinal surgeries, as well as general medical-surgical patients with conditions such as CHF, COPD, and respiratory/kidney/liver/GI issues. The facility offers 24/7 support services including respiratory therapy, hospitalist coverage, and various support staff to ensure quality patient care.
