Opportunity:

Respiratory Therapist - Respiratory Therapy

Job Details:

• Day shifts run from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM and night shifts run from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM with variable shifts on rare occasions
• Rotating weekend coverage approximately every 3rd weekend depending on staffing and call-ins
• Holiday coverage required for 2 out of 3 winter holidays and every other holiday otherwise
• No on-call or standby call requirements
• Handle approximately 20 to 25 treatments per day with typically 2 respiratory therapists per shift
• Provide care for mainly adult patients with minimal pediatric and neonate patients in the ER or newborn unit
• Cover inpatient, ER, ICU, medical-surgical floors, and facility emergencies in the clinic
• Perform basic therapies, ABGs, EKGs, BiPAP/CPAP, and ventilator management including intubation weaning and extubation
• Assist with intubation and insert king airways in emergency situations prior to provider arrival
• May be asked to cover high-risk deliveries on a very low frequency basis
• Complete charge verification and timely and proper charting in Cerner
• Must demonstrate strong teamwork skills and ability to assist other therapists as needed
• Travel experience preferred
• Equipment used includes ventilators (PB980, PB840, SurvoU, LTV1200, Hamilton), BiPAP/CPAP (V60, Home ResMed), and high flow (Optiflow)
• Scrub color required: Dark Green
• Acute care setting
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NRP, PALS (AHA), Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) via NBRC
• Must clock in and out at the facility

Facility:

This acute care facility provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services across multiple care settings including the emergency room, ICU, and medical-surgical floors. The facility maintains 24/7 hospitalist coverage and intensivist support throughout the majority of the day, with eICU available for overnight needs. The respiratory therapy department operates with a structured orientation program and utilizes Cerner for electronic charting.
