Opportunity:

RN - Labor and Delivery

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM with occasional PM shifts from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM as needed
• Every 3rd weekend requirement or two weekends per six weeks with block scheduling option available
• Rotating holiday schedule required
• No on-call or standby requirement
• High-risk facility managing all L&D diagnoses including preeclampsia, HELLP, placenta previa, preterm labor, and PROM
• Unit includes 7 L&D beds, 2 OR suites for C-sections, and 17 postpartum beds with approximately 950-1,000 births yearly
• Follows AWHONN guidelines for staffing ratios
• Required to float to MBU/Antepartum on the same floor as LDR
• Responsible for admission, prep, and recovery in LDR area; does not circulate for C-sections
• LDR RN performs both mom and baby recovery as there is no dedicated newborn nursery RN
• Required to titrate drips including insulin and oxytocin
• OB Tech typically present on each shift; OB provider in house 24/7 with MFM on call and neonatologist available as needed
• Anesthesia available in house 24/7
• EFM system: Corometric EFM with Cerner/Fetalink
• Charting system: Cerner
• Hospital-provided purple scrubs for the unit
• 3-day unit orientation: one hospital-specific day and two unit-specific days
• Must clock in and out at facility
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• BSN not required
• Valid Wisconsin nursing license required

Facility:

This acute care facility is a Level 2 trauma center offering comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services. The Labor and Delivery department operates as a high-risk unit equipped to manage complex obstetric cases with around-the-clock OB provider coverage, on-call MFM support, and 24/7 anesthesia availability. The unit maintains a collaborative care environment supported by OB technicians and dedicated charge nurses who serve as a second presence in all deliveries.
