Opportunity:

RN - CVICU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every third weekend rotation required
• 1 to 2 holidays expected per contract
• No on-call responsibilities
• RTO approval of up to 7 days permitted
• 6-week schedule cycle with schedule provided 1 to 2 weeks prior to start
• Fatigue policy in effect - cannot work more than 60 hours per week or 5 consecutive 12-hour shifts
• Minimum 3 years of ICU experience with 1 year of CVICU experience required
• First-time travelers accepted if experience requirements are met
• Patient ratios: 1:1 or 1:2 for regular ICU status, 1:3 for mixed status
• Care for cardiac patients including post-op CABG, TAVR/TMVR, valve repairs/replacements, heart transplants, and pacemakers
• Care for thoracic surgery patients including post-op esophagectomy, pneumonectomy, and lobectomy
• Care for vascular patients including post-op AAA, TVAR, and carotid endarterectomy
• Must be competent in invasive line monitoring including Swan Ganz and a-lines, pacemakers, chest tubes, cardiac medications, ventilator/trach management, and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Experience with CV surgical support such as ECMO, CVVH, IABP, and VAD preferred
• CCRN certification preferred
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS
• RN draws from invasive lines only; peripheral sticks not permitted
• IV pumps: Alaris; medication dispensing: Pyxis; monitors: GE
• May float to ED Holding, other ICUs (MRICU, SICU, CICU, Neuro ICU), MSU, Sitter, or PACU Surge
• 1 day of orientation including 2 to 4 hours of nurse educator onboarding followed by unit preceptorship
• Scrubs must be any solid color, professional - no graphics, logos, or designs
• Free parking available with shuttle service during days and attached parking structure during nights

Facility:

This facility is a Level II Trauma Center and Magnet Designated hospital with 933 beds, offering a wide range of specialized services. The facility features a Level III NICU and serves as a Comprehensive Stroke Center, reflecting its commitment to advanced patient care. The CVICU unit consists of 30 beds and is supported around the clock by dedicated intensivists, CT surgeons, hospitalists, and respiratory therapists, providing a highly collaborative and well-resourced environment for clinical staff.
