Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg/Tele

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts, either 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Weekend rotation every third weekend
• 1-2 holidays expected per contract
• No on-call responsibilities
• Up to 7 days of requested time off may be approved
• 6-week schedule cycle with schedule provided 1-2 weeks prior to start
• Cannot work more than 60 hours per week or 5 consecutive 12-hour shifts per fatigue policy
• Minimum 3 years of ICU experience with 1 year of CVICU experience required
• First-time travelers accepted if minimum experience requirements are met
• Patient ratio of 1:1 or 1:2 for regular ICU status, 1:3 for mixed status
• Care for cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgical patients including post-op CABG, TAVR/TMVR, valve repairs/replacements, heart transplants, esophagectomy, pneumonectomy, AAA, and carotid endarterectomy
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS; CCRN preferred
• Must be competent in invasive line monitoring including Swan Ganz and A-lines, pacemakers (epicardial and transvenous), chest tubes, cardiac medications, ventilator/trach management, and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Experience with ECMO, CVVH, IABP, and VAD preferred
• RN draws from invasive lines only; peripheral sticks not permitted
• Equipment includes Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, and GE monitors
• May float to ED Holding, other ICUs (MRICU, SICU, CICU, Neuro ICU), MSU, Sitter, or PACU Surge
• Scrubs must be any solid color, professional with no graphics, logos, or designs
• Free parking available with shuttle service during day shifts and attached parking structure for night shifts

Facility:

This facility is a 933-bed Level II Trauma Center and Magnet-designated hospital located in Milwaukee, WI. It features a Level III NICU and serves as a Comprehensive Stroke Center. The CVICU unit operates with 30 beds and provides 24/7 support including a dedicated CVICU Intensivist, CT Surgeon on call, Hospitalist onsite, General Intensivist, ICU-designated Respiratory Therapist, charge nurses, and HUC coverage. The unit also has bedside and nurses station telemetry monitoring as well as phlebotomy support for peripheral blood draws.
