Opportunity:

Respiratory Therapist - Respiratory Therapy

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM or 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM (variable shifts occur rarely and are discussed with traveler prior to any switch)
• Every 3rd weekend rotation required (depending on call-ins and staffing)
• Rotating holiday coverage required - 2 out of 3 winter holidays and every other holiday otherwise
• No on-call or standby call requirements
• Manage 20-25 treatments per day per respiratory therapist with typically 2 RTs per shift
• Treat mainly adult patients with minimal pediatrics and neonates (ER or newborn); may be asked to cover high-risk deliveries at very low frequency
• Cover inpatient, ER, ICU, medical/surgical floors, and facility emergencies in the clinic
• Perform basic therapies, ABGs, EKGs, BiPAPs/CPAPs, ventilator management including intubation weaning and extubation
• Assist with intubation and insert king airways in emergency situations prior to provider arrival
• Complete timely and proper charting in Cerner
• Experience with ventilators required: PB980, PB840, Servo-U, LTV1200, and Hamilton
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP equipment required: V60 and Home ResMed
• Experience with high flow equipment required: Optiflow
• Strong teamwork skills required with ability to jump in and assist other therapists
• Previous travel experience preferred
• Dress code: Dark green scrubs
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), PALS (AHA), Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) via NBRC - CRT not accepted
• Acute care setting
• All clinicians must clock in and out at the facility

Facility:

This acute care medical center provides comprehensive inpatient and emergency services across multiple care settings including the ICU, ER, and medical/surgical floors. The facility maintains 24/7 hospitalist coverage and intensivist presence for the majority of the day, with eICU support available for overnight needs. The respiratory therapy department operates with a dedicated leadership team and provides a structured orientation program to ensure travelers are well-prepared to deliver quality patient care.
