Opportunity:

RN - ICU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts with options for day shift (7:00 AM to 7:00 PM) or night shift (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
• Weekend rotation every other weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• 1 holiday required per contract
• Schedule made in 6-week increments
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Patient ratios of 1:1 to 1:3; team nursing model utilized when caring for more than 2 patients
• Care for a variety of patient types including general/medical, cardiac, trauma, surgical, and neurological cases
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS; TNCC preferred
• Required skills: ventilator/trach management, tube/drain management, chest tubes, invasive line management (arterial line, CVP), cardiac rhythm interpretation, surgical recovery, and medication titration (sedation, pressors, cardiac, pain, paralytics)
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Preferred skills: abdominal pressure monitoring, EVDs, CVVH, and IABP
• Equipment used includes Alaris IV pumps and Pyxis medication dispensing system
• May float anywhere within the hospital within scope of practice; travelers float first
• When floating to MedSurg/Tele units or ED Boarding, patient ratio is 1:4
• Scrub color: any solid color, professional; no graphics, logos, or designs
• Free parking available in designated employee areas

Facility:

This facility is a 91-bed Level II Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center offering comprehensive critical care services. The ICU unit features 14 beds and provides robust departmental support including a Charge RN with patient assignment, CNA coverage, bedside and centralized telemonitoring, respiratory therapy available 24/7, hospitalists and intensivists available 24/7, and occupational, physical, and speech therapy available during daytime hours.
