Opportunity:

Respiratory Therapist - Respiratory Therapy

Job Details:

• 12-hour shifts available for both days and nights
• Every other weekend requirement, with potential for every weekend depending on posting (Friday, Saturday, Sunday, or 48 hours Thursday through Sunday)
• No on-call or standby call requirements
• If a holiday falls on a scheduled shift day, clinician is expected to work that holiday
• No blocked scheduling
• 2-day department-specific orientation to learn equipment and department procedures
• Must be comfortable being the only respiratory therapist in house
• Previous travel experience strongly preferred
• Treat mostly adult patients, with pediatric patients seen in the ER, occasional OB deliveries, and critical newborns
• Cover ER, inpatient, and other areas within the hospital as needed
• Must have experience responding to rapid response team calls and code blues, C-sections, and conscious sedations
• Set up and manage ventilators, BiPAP, CPAP, high flow oxygen, ABGs, nebulizer treatments, conscious sedation, and end tidal CO2 monitoring
• Work with Draeger ventilators, Philips BiPAP/CPAP V60s, Arivo high flow equipment
• Intubation performed with physician present; prior intubation experience preferred
• Scrubs available via on-site scrub dispenser; own scrubs also acceptable
• All clinicians must clock in and out at the facility
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NRP, PALS (AHA), Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) via NBRC

Facility:

This acute care facility operates at a Trauma Level 4 designation and provides a full range of inpatient and emergency medical services. The respiratory therapy department runs with two therapists during the day and one therapist overnight, supporting the ER, inpatient floors, and additional coverage areas throughout the hospital. Hospitalist coverage is available during the day, with telemedicine support at night and an ER physician in house 24/7 responding to codes.
