Opportunity:

Respiratory Therapist - Respiratory Therapy

Job Details:

• 12-hour day and night shifts available with 7:00 AM start time
• Every or every other weekend requirement (Friday, Saturday, Sunday, or Thursday through Sunday for 48-hour schedules)
• Holidays worked if they fall on a scheduled day
• No on-call or standby call requirements
• 2-day department-specific orientation to learn equipment and department procedures
• Must be comfortable working as the only RT in house
• Travel experience strongly preferred
• Must have experience responding to rapid response team calls and code blues, C-sections, and conscious sedations
• Set up and manage ventilators, BiPAP, CPAP, high flow oxygen, ABGs, nebulizers, conscious sedation, and end tidal CO2
• Cover ER, inpatient, and other areas within the hospital as needed
• Treat mostly adult patients with pediatric patients seen in the ER and occasional OB deliveries and critical newborns
• Intubation performed with physician present in the room
• Float within the hospital as needed
• Scrubs provided on-site via scrub dispenser; personal scrubs also acceptable
• Equipment includes Draeger ventilators, Philips BiPAP/CPAP V60s, and Arivo high flow systems
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NRP, PALS (AHA), Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) via NBRC

Facility:

This acute care facility operates at a Trauma Level 4 designation and provides a broad range of inpatient and emergency medical services to the surrounding community. The respiratory therapy department runs around the clock with two therapists during the day and one at night, supporting the ER, inpatient floors, and additional care areas. The facility features modern respiratory equipment and maintains hospitalist coverage during the day with telemedicine support at night and an in-house ER physician available 24/7 for code response.
