Opportunity:

RN - ER

Job Details:

• 12-hour night shifts
• Every other weekend required (Saturday and Sunday)
• Holiday rotation required - minimum 2-3 holidays for winter, otherwise typically every other holiday during the contract
• Variable shift start times on a rotating schedule
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3-4 during the day, higher ratios at night after 11:00 PM, with 2 RNs only from 3:00 AM to 7:00 AM
• Work in a 14-bed emergency department with 2 trauma bays and a Fast Track area with 3 designated rooms
• Triage responsibilities available after review and understanding of facility policies and procedures
• Common patient diagnoses include traumas, STEMIs, strokes, MVAs, hunting injuries, and farm-related incidents
• Average of 40-60 patients treated per day
• Trauma Level IV facility - stroke and STEMI patients are transferred out
• ED Physician on-site 24/7 along with mid-level providers
• Respiratory therapy available 24/7 for ABGs, breathing treatments, and EKG assistance
• 24/7 phlebotomy services available
• X-ray and CT imaging accessible within close proximity to the department
• Floating to inpatient units may be required to assist as needed
• Scrub color: any solid color, clean and professional appearance required
• Orientation includes computer-based training and 2 days of floor orientation
• Minimum 2 years of emergency department experience required
• Must have Michigan nursing license in hand prior to submission
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), PALS (AHA), TNCC
• All clinicians must clock in and out at the facility

Facility:

This acute care emergency department operates 24/7 and is equipped with 14 beds, 2 trauma bays, a Fast Track area, and dedicated triage rooms. The facility functions as a Trauma Level IV center and is supported by an in-house ED physician around the clock, respiratory therapy, and 24/7 phlebotomy and imaging services. The department sees a wide variety of patient cases and maintains a collaborative care team including CNAs, medics, and LPNs to support nursing staff.
