Opportunity:
RN - Rehabilitation Nurse
Job Details:
• Day shifts available from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM and night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 6-week schedule cycle with 5-6 weekend shifts out of every 12
• No on-call requirements
• Holiday expectations include working one shift of each major holiday (Thanksgiving Day or day after, 12/24 or 12/25, and 12/31 or 1/1)
• Patient ratio of 1:5-7 with CNA support of 1-3 CNAs per shift
• 2 years of inpatient rehabilitation or MedSurg experience required; must have knowledge of inpatient rehabilitation
• Will accept first-time travelers
• Will accept RN or LPN candidates
• Care for patients including neuro, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, CVA, aneurysm, post-craniotomies, brain bleeds, and patients with PEG tubes and trachs
• Required skills include wound care, dressing changes, wound vacs, drains, peripheral IV starts and maintenance, ostomy care, IV antibiotics, PEG tube maintenance, tube feeds, established trach care, and handling braces and splints
• No drips required
• Float between Unit 1 and Unit 2 as needed
• EMR system: EPIC
• IV Pump: Alaris; Medication dispensing: Pyxis; Monitors: Phillips
• Unit-specific equipment includes VS3 vital sign monitors, Nova Glucose Stat Strips, portable vital signs monitors (Dynamap), bladder scanners, portable oxygen systems, and suction machines
• Scrub color: RN - Navy; LPN - Ceil Blue
• Free parking available on-site
• Required certifications: Active RN License (GA), BLS, NIHSS
• 1-day orientation with educational modules followed by 2 days of departmental orientation
Facility:
This rehabilitation hospital is a dedicated inpatient rehabilitation facility with 58 beds total and a specialized unit of 25 beds serving a census of 20-25 patients. The facility primarily receives referrals of acute patients from hospitals and provides comprehensive support services including CNA assistance, a unit secretary, charge RN, phlebotomy, respiratory therapy available 24/7, and hospitalist coverage during the day with on-call availability at night. The unit fosters a busy but collaborative team culture focused on delivering high-quality rehabilitative care.
