Opportunity:

Sterile Processing Tech - Sterile Processing

Job Details:

• Work at both Main and East Sterile Processing sites located within the same building
• Rotate with team members in decontamination, assembly, and sterilization departments
• Process and maintain proper care of all surgical instruments and equipment, including scopes and powered surgical instruments
• Perform inspection, evaluation of proper function, cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilization of instruments
• Maintain quality control and documentation records of the sterilization process
• Distribute designated supplies and equipment to all areas of the medical center
• Work with a wide variety of instruments across service lines including orthopedics, ophthalmology, neuro, plastics, ENT, urology, cardiothoracic, vascular, GYN, robotics, and general
• Perform steam sterilization, low temp (VPRO) sterilization, and medivator operations primarily for TEE probes
• Must be able to use steam sterilizers, VPRO units, and medivators independently
• Must have previous work experience using Steris SPM instrument tracking software - candidates without SPM experience will not be considered
• Perform assembly, sterilization, wrapping, decontamination, instrument inspection, and high-level disinfection
• Work very independently, potentially as the only person in decontamination, assembly, or sterilization at a given time
• No weekend rotation, on-call, or holiday expectations
• Orientation consists of 4 shifts total - 2 shifts in each department
• Minimum 1.5 years of sterile processing experience required
• First-time travelers not accepted unless significant SPD experience is demonstrated
• Required certifications: CRCST or CBSPD
• Scrubs provided

Facility:

This medical center is a Level II Trauma Center, Level III NICU, Level III Maternity facility, and Primary Stroke Center with 167 beds. The facility operates two sterile processing departments within the same building and supports a broad range of surgical service lines. The sterile processing team plays a critical role in supporting high-acuity care across multiple specialties, maintaining rigorous standards for instrument tracking, sterilization, and quality control.
