Opportunity:

RN - ICU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour straight night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Every other holiday required
• Block scheduling utilized when possible
• ICU or Pediatrics experience preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), PALS (AHA)
• Charting system: Cerner
• 20-bed unit covering MS/ICU/IMC patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: MS 1:5 days / 1:6 nights, IMC 1:4, ICU 1:2, Peds 1:3-4
• CNAs available on unit at ratio of 1 CNA per 8-10 patients on days and nights
• Common diagnoses include cardiac, pulmonary, neuro, GI, GU, orthopedic, sepsis, and pediatric conditions
• RNs required to titrate drips including Heparin, insulin, amiodarone, Cardizem, PCA Fentanyl, Propofol, and Norepinephrine
• Must be able to read rhythm strips; telemetry monitored remotely by tele techs
• Tele monitors are GE ApexPro CH
• Equipment includes CPAP, BiPAP, Vapotherm, Servo U ventilators, and Hamilton ventilators with RT support available 24/7
• Floating required inhouse to ED, UC, and PACU as needed; interfacility floating to Park Falls and Weston
• Charge nurses take patient assignments; House Supervisor does not
• Navy scrubs required for RNs
• Orientation includes 1 day of computer-based training and hospital orientation, plus 1-2 days of on-shift orientation
• Low census call required on a rotation basis; cancellations are rare
• All clinicians must clock in and out at the facility

Facility:

This acute care facility operates as a Level 4 trauma center providing comprehensive inpatient services across medical-surgical, ICU, and intermediate care settings. The facility serves a largely elderly surrounding population and handles a wide variety of diagnoses including cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, orthopedic, and pediatric cases. The unit is supported by a dedicated team including charge nurses, CNAs, and respiratory therapists available around the clock, ensuring high-quality patient care in a collaborative environment.
