Opportunity:

RN - ICU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts with day shift hours of 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or night shift hours of 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Weekend rotation every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Minimum 3 years of ICU experience required
• CRRT experience with NxStage preferred
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS
• Preferred certification: NIHSS
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2 acuity-based
• Manage a variety of patient types including COVID, sepsis, ETOH, IVDA, overdose, stroke with TPA, and acute renal failure
• Surgical patients include general, open abdominal, orthopedic, ENT, and OBGYN cases
• Cardiac and vascular patients include CABG, valve procedures, post-cath, AAA, and amputations
• Required skills include vent/trach management, invasive line management (A-line, CVP, Swan), drain and tube management, foley management, chest tubes, post-surgical recovery, CVVH, balloon pumps, and CRRT (NxStage)
• Charting system: EPIC preferred; equipment includes Alaris and Pyxis
• Travelers will float first to intermediate units (1:3), MSU, ED boarding (1:4), and observation units (1:4)
• Scrub color: any color; no camouflage, denim, or hoodies
• More than 2 sick calls will prompt discussion and possible contract termination
• RTO pending manager approval

Facility:

This facility is a 136-bed Level III Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center featuring a 17-bed ICU and a Level II NICU. The unit is supported around the clock by an intensivist, respiratory therapy, and bedside telemetry monitoring, with additional daytime support including a unit secretary, ICU-specific pharmacist, educator, and a dedicated phlebotomy team. The facility provides a well-structured environment with comprehensive resources to support high-quality critical care delivery.
