Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg/Tele

Job Details:

• Day/Evening 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Weekend and holiday rotations based on operational need
• Weekend patient ratio of 6 patients
• Floating to other units or downtown campus required as needed
• 20 orientation hours required
• Must have two years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in Med Surg/Tele
• Epic charting system experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Travel experience preferred
• WI RN or compact RN license required
• BLS (AHA only) required
• Must pass Telemetry exam prior to start with a score of 80% or higher, with a maximum of three attempts
• Adult Telemetry Exam requires 100% identification of lethal rhythms (ventricular fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, asystole) and no incorrect answers on questions regarding 3rd degree heart blocks
• Pediatric Telemetry Exam requires identification of ventricular fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, asystole, and sinus bradycardia
• Care for adult and geriatric patient populations
• Manage patients with diagnoses including COPD, heart failure, hypertension, diabetes, infections, and mental status changes
• Administer and monitor drips including insulin, heparin, and PCA
• Support post-operative care for bariatric, orthopedic, neurosurgical, and general surgery patients
• Skills required include telemetry monitoring, IV management, wound care/wound vac, central line blood draw, PICC line management, blood product administration, and use of rapid response/code teams
• Free parking available onsite

This facility is one of the newest and most advanced hospitals and wellness centers in the country, offering a holistic approach to healthcare that extends beyond diagnosing and treating illness to partnering with patients in their overall health and wellness. The 5th floor inpatient unit is a fast-paced, 28-bed medical surgical unit within a Magnet designated hospital. The facility is supported by a strong interdisciplinary team including IV teams, physical therapy, interpretation services, phlebotomy, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretarial support, all within a state-of-the-art, evidence-based practice environment.
