Opportunity:

RN - IMC

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour evening/night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Schedule includes Monday through Friday with every other weekend and some holidays required
• Travel and rotate between two units: D6/5 IMC Acute Med/Progressive Care unit and B4/3 IMC Thoracic unit
• Patient ratio of 1:3 for days, nights, and weekends
• Telemetry oncology, cardiac, and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience required
• Ventilator and transplant experience required - candidates not strongly proficient in these areas will not be considered
• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years required
• Travel experience required
• Must have experience in an academic Level I or II trauma center or similar size hospital
• Provide comprehensive and specialized nursing care to acutely ill adult patients with multiple comorbidities, various medical diagnoses, and hemodynamic instability
• Care for specialty populations including patients with Cystic Fibrosis, pulmonary hypertension, and post lung transplant diagnoses
• Work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment caring for both general care and IMC level patients
• Travelers are required to float as needed
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility - local candidates not accepted
• Required to pass a telemetry exam prior to start with a passing score of 80% or higher; two attempts allowed
• Adult telemetry exam requires 100% identification of lethal rhythms and no incorrect answers on 3rd degree heart block questions
• Charting system: Epic (required)
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and Wisconsin RN or compact RN license
• Key skills include: cardiac telemetry, ventilator care, arterial line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, central line care, chest tube management, heparin protocols, titration of cardiac and insulin drips, post-transplant care, tracheostomy care, wound care, and trauma Level I or II experience

The facility features a 29-bed IMC unit with interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary support. The organization fosters a collaborative environment where nurses play an integral role in the multidisciplinary team and have a strong voice in advocating for quality patient care.
