Opportunity:

RN - ICU - Neuro

Job Details:

• 12-hour evening/night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend rotation with some holiday coverage required
• Will accept 4x12 scheduling
• Will accept Friday through Sunday block scheduling
• 2:1 patient ratio for days, nights, and weekends
• 18-bed Neuroscience ICU unit serving adult and geriatric patients
• ICU experience required; neurosurgery experience preferred
• Must be willing to work with ICU and IMC patient population
• Travel experience required; must be located more than 50 miles from facility
• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience in specialty within the last 3 years required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS (AHA only), Wisconsin or compact RN license
• Must have basic arrhythmia experience and pass a telemetry exam prior to start
• Telemetry exam passing criteria: 80% or higher, with 100% identification of lethal rhythms and no incorrect answers on 3rd degree heart block questions; two attempts allowed
• Must have experience with ICP monitoring or ventriculostomy (EVD)
• Special equipment experience required: EVD, lumbar drains, and CereLink monitor
• Key clinical skills include: arterial line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, ICP monitoring, continuous IV sedation and paralytics, CVA/acute stroke management, post-craniotomy and post-neurosurgery management, traumatic brain injury care, spinal cord injury care, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Travelers are required to float as needed
• Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, and rapid response teams

The facility operates an 18-bed Neuroscience ICU certified as a Comprehensive Stroke Center, providing specialized critical care for patients with complex neurological diagnoses including stroke, subarachnoid hemorrhage, surgical resections, and traumatic brain injury. The unit emphasizes nurse-driven collaboration and partnerships with nationally certified physicians and a comprehensive interdisciplinary care team.
