Opportunity:

RN - IMC

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day/evening shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Schedule includes Monday through Friday with every other weekend and some holidays required
• Traveler will work in both D6/5 IMC Acute Med/Progressive Care unit and B4/3 IMC Thoracic Surgery unit
• Patient ratio is 3:1 for days, nights, and weekends
• Floating to other units as needed is required
• Minimum 2 years of acute care inpatient RN experience within the last 3 years in the specialty required
• Telemetry oncology, cardiac, and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience required
• Ventilator and transplant experience required
• ICU or IMC and surgical post-op experience required
• Thoracic experience preferred
• Trauma Level II experience required; Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Charting system experience required; Epic charting system used
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS (AHA only), Wisconsin RN or compact RN license
• Must pass a telemetry exam prior to start with a passing score of 80% or higher; two attempts allowed
• Care for patients including adults and geriatrics with diagnoses such as esophagectomies, lung volume reduction surgery, wedge resection surgery, cardiac surgery stepdown, and hospitalist patients
• Required skills include: accessing/managing ports, arterial line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, central line care/management, chest tubes, feeding tube care, heparin protocols, high flow nasal cannula, interpretation of arterial blood gases and dysrhythmias, IV insulin protocols, management of dysrhythmias, PCA, PICC line management, pre/post cardiac cath and surgery, pre/post hemodialysis management, titration of vasoactive and insulin drips, wound care/wound vac, and use of rapid response/code teams
