Opportunity:

RN - ER

Job Details:

• Evening 12-hour shifts, 11:00 AM to 11:30 PM or 3:00 PM to 3:30 AM
• Schedule includes weekends and holidays
• Patient ratio of 4:1 on days, nights, and weekends
• Float to UW University campus as required
• Two (2) years of Emergency Department experience with adult and pediatric populations within the last 3 years required
• Travel experience required
• Trauma Level II experience required; Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Wisconsin RN or Compact RN license required
• Required certifications: BLS, PALS, ACLS (AHA only), TNCC
• Must pass a Telemetry exam prior to start with a score of 80% or higher (adult and pediatric components); two attempts allowed
• Must be located more than 50 miles from facility; locals not accepted
• Care for patients across all age groups including neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Provide comprehensive emergency care including triage, IV placement, blood product administration, procedural sedation, and management of trauma, stroke, psychiatric, and multi-system conditions
• Serve as part of the hospital's rapid response team as needed

This facility is one of the most advanced hospitals and wellness centers in the country, offering a holistic approach to healthcare that encompasses both treatment and wellness partnership. The emergency department serves nearly 45,000 patients annually and is designated as a Level IV Trauma Center, an Acute Stroke Ready Center, and a recognized Pediatric Ready Emergency Department. The department features 40 exam rooms, 19 vertical care spaces, and the ability to flex an additional 20 exam rooms during high-volume periods. The facility coordinates closely with ground ambulance and medical flight services and is supported by a comprehensive interdisciplinary team including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, and social services.
