Opportunity:

RN - ER

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts in a 12-bed Emergency Department unit, including use of hallway beds
• Night shift staffing structure: 5 RNs and 1 paramedic until 11:00 PM, dropping to 4 RNs and 1 paramedic at 1:00 AM, then 3 RNs and 1 paramedic from 1:00 AM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend rotation required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Holiday scheduling varies based on unit need
• Minimum 2 years of experience required; first-time travelers considered on a case-by-case basis
• Patient population ranges from neonates to geriatrics with a majority of adult patients
• Patient ratio is 1:5, up to 1:6 on rare occasions based on acuity
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, TNCC, PALS, and de-escalation training (MOAB or CPI)
• Required skills include general ED skillset, chest tubes, drips, IV starts, phlebotomy, EKGs, and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Charting system: Epic
• Equipment used: GE monitors, Alaris, and Pyxis
• CNA support available at a 1:12 ratio
• Respiratory therapy and hospitalist available in-house 24/7
• Bedside and nursing station telemetry available with no telemetry technician
• ED RNs perform phlebotomy at the bedside
• No floating required
• One orientation shift provided to learn unit flow
• Scrub color: Any
• Free on-site parking provided

Facility:

This facility is a Level IV Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center with 69 total beds, offering a comprehensive range of emergency and acute care services. The emergency department operates with 12 beds including triage and is supported by in-house respiratory therapy and hospitalist services available around the clock. The facility is equipped with modern technology and provides a structured, team-oriented environment with resource nurse support available to staff.
